Formula Palmer Audi graduates look forward to the challenge of F2
Moore, Brundle, Palmer and Clarke look ahead to the start of the season
Jason Moore, Alex Brundle, Jolyon Palmer and Jack Clarke have all graduated to Formula Two having driven in Formula Palmer Audi in 2008 and they are looking forward to the step up to international racing.
FPA champion Jason Moore said: "It is difficult to know where we all stand in terms of quality because there are so many good drivers in the championship, but that is what makes it so exciting."
Alex Brundle, son of ex-F1 driver Martin, spoke to F2TV about his expectations of the season ahead: "I think to drive against very talented people in equal equipment is a massive opportunity", said Brundle. "I am really looking forward to the challenge."
Jolyon Palmer, who finished third in last year's FPA standings, is also well aware of the talent that lies within the F2 field: "The competition couldn't be much harder!" said Palmer.
Palmer is targeting points finishes in 2009 and is looking forward to a battle with his former FPA rivals: "There are a few drivers who I can benchmark myself against - people like Moore, Clarke and Brundle from FPA last year," Palmer concluded. "Certainly at the front it's going to be a very hot pace."
Jack Clarke also spoke with F2TV and whilst he is respectful of the competition, he also has high hopes for 2009: "I think it's going to be really tough", said Clarke. "But I hope to be up there mixing it with the likes of Wickens and Jousse."
