British Formula Two driver confirmed as a 'BRDC Superstar'
Formula Two racer and reigning Formula Palmer Audi champion Jason Moore has been selected by the British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) to join its Superstars scheme in 2009.
Moore is one of nine UK drivers to be chosen for the initiative, which aims to support and further the careers of young British talents: "It is a great honour," said Moore. "It is all a great boost. Since winning FPA last year, I was shortlisted for the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award, then I signed up for F2 and now this! It all helps to raise my profile."
The programme supports drivers from a cross-section of motor racing disciplines and championships, and Moore is one of five single-seater drivers that will receive media, fitness and technical education during the coming season. The highly regarded 20-year-old is joined on the programme by the likes of Oliver Turvey (Formula Renault 3.5), Alex Simms (F3 Euroseries) and Wayne Boyd (British F3): "I really appreciate the support and belief that the BRDC have shown in me," concluded Moore. "I really cannot wait to get my first international season underway. The F2 car looks and sounds great and I am eager to get behind the wheel."
BRDC Superstars was launched in 2008 and the programme expects to announce a further three drivers in the coming weeks.
